THE NELSON MAIL'S - SHOW OF DOUBLE STANDARDS. Promote/sponsor their own urban art, but not of local artists....

What's very interesting in all this, is the fact that The Nelson Mail supports financially and through positive write ups in their paper, the  Oi You' Urban Art promotion,  George Shaw's faces on buildings and the graffiti knitting. But  when a 'genuine, but positive' urban art attempt is made by Nelson's very own artists, they rubbish it.  Call it tagging and Graffiti and only publicize negative comments.  When they are asked in writing, by a couple of these artists,  to give their own positive sway to what they were doing, the Mail don't even bother replying.  Not interested.

The Nelson Mail have two large faces on their own building 'Faces on buildings project' -  paper & paste - supporting 'urban' art and their promotion of it.  However, when a small piece of skilled & cheeky 'genuine urban art' appears on their building, it's down in a flash.  Remember another thing.  It's paper and wheatpaste, similar to their own faces on buildings.  Easy to remove, no damage.

What is this saying about our local paper?  Is it showing them to be ethical in their code of conduct?  Does it show them to have integrity or 'impartiality'?
Yep, there's a big whiff of double standards on show with our local paper.
